Went to the creek this AM with friends MX19 and Angryincher.� Had� the best day on Putah so far, however this is probably only about the 5th time total that�I've been.�Finally got rid of the skunk smell.� Got to the creek about 0730 and had the 1st fish shortly after fished all over #5.� One section of creek produce about 20 fish between the 3 of us.� All 8"-10"� range with the largest being 12".� Fish were mostly caught on mm and copper john's.� Off the water by noon.� Good time fishing with friends.� And MX, I would have pulled you out...eventually!!!!!�� HAHAHA
Fished a pretty normal, but quick loop through #5..most of the fish were in there usual hide outs..micro mays are still working well ,but were out fished by a #18 blk and silver zebra midge and a #16 red copper john...Water is still a little colored ....used between 5 to 7 ft of leader to the first fly most of the day..A few areas needed an extra foot and some we should of used less than 5ft...Split shot was a AAA in the deeper faster spots and a #1 every else where.. What a difference in comparison to the color and girth of the fish I caught today versus the ones I caught up stream last week...Up stream they are super fat and have darker spots... Had a good time fishing with a couple of my good friends even if it was combat fishing at times.. "Fish snatchers" Yes , you could say my waders were just as wet on the inside as the outside no thanks to my extra slow friend.... good times mx19
