Dude, the Trinity is off the hook right now.

Get out as soon as you can. If you want a guide, I'd try one of the fellas from Sac River Outfitters. I talked to a guy a few days ago that LANDED 13 adult Steelhead with them. Hooked many more.

Junction City area is best bet. Use a drift boat. Try a Copper John or Golden Stone and egg under an indicator or swing a blackleech/bugger/stonefly.

Flourocarbon tippet is a plus smile

Well I really wasn't planning on using a guide. I dont have a drift boat.�

I really dont know alot about the river or its access.� Is it easy to access some fishy looking water and wade? Find some parking? Is there long streches of wadeable water.�I know it gets crowded but sometimes that's not a bad way to find good areas.

Well then...

This is what I would do:

1. Get a Trinity River map

2. Call Trinity River Fly Fishing Shop or whatever its called.

3. Take a highlighter or sharpie and get them to tell you every place that would be good for wading and would be productive right now.

4. Call them again a few days later and talk to someone else and repeat the process.

5. Tie Copper Johns/Jumbo Johns, Black Stoneflies, and glo bugs.
